This quintessence of dust

What a piece of work is a man, how noble in reason, how

infinite in faculties, in form and moving how express and

admirable . . . . and yet,to me, what is this quintessence of dust?

Male Domination Art, Part 2: Modern erotic painting and drawing

Japanese School:

Gengoroh Tagame
Entitled The Appetite Material. Chilling.  The genitals are covered but emphasized,
in the Japanese tradition.

About as bound as one can get, and I love the expression
on the bound guy's face.
Bu that's just me.

Entitled Natsukage,

which incredible google tells us . . .

"Natsukage / Nostalgia" is a single containing songs sung by I've Sound's Lia first released on August 10, 2001 at Comiket 60 in Japan by Key Sounds Label bearing the catalog number KSLA-0002.
The second google reference to "Natsukage meaning" is to a blog entitled shape without form, shade without colour. . . a beautiful blog, containing these words:

f you are a dreamer, come in,
If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar,
A hope-er, a pray-er, a magic bean buyer...
If you're a pretender, come sit by my fire
For we have some flax-golden tales to spin.
Come in! Come in!... for where the sidewalk ends.
 - Shel Silverstein

These fragments I have shored against my ruins. - T.S. Eliot

So I don't know what Natsukage means. I suspect there's a sly joke hiding in the word.  I suspect that those of us who don't catch the joke are being made fun of.  Never mind.  If you speak Japanese, help, please.

Little of Tagame's work is gentle.

I put him as one of the two best of the contemporary erotic artistes.  If you want to know more about Tagame or want to see more of his work, visit his website.

See here for an irreverent review, who calls Hasegawa's art Japanese kitsch porn drawings."  Well, some of u s like kitsch; indeed, some of us may be kitsch.  So, Here's to kitsch (click!):

Is this after a patty at our house?
I seem to remember this guy.

Okawa is treated with respect by the commentators.  He lived in Japan through tWWII, and his art shows it.  You will see later how American artists, influenced byWWII, differ.

The title is "Philippe RendezVousWP".  I don't know what it signifies.

"Shipbound"

"Snowbound"

Tied and Beaten"

"Treetied"

The following drawings are not named.

Western Erotic Art

The Leather Archives calls Etienne "the court jester of Erotica."  I rank him up there with Tagame.  See what you think.

Don't know why this so appealed to me;
 but this cute boy surely needs rescuing;
surely the bad buy would get it; and
surely the cute boy would be grateful.

Etienne was born in 1933 in Chicago.  I was born in 1933, in a Wilderness.  I suppose Etienne's fantasies are an old man's fantasies.  Don't know if they appeal to young'uns.  Don't know what fantasies are active in young brains.  Would like to know.  Never got around to aaskin'.  I'll ask, next time I see you to talk with.

Here's how Etienne looked at WWII, and, incidentally, how most editorial cartoonists saw it, though without the erotic content.

Here's how Etienne saw American football.

College humor

 Cop humor

Cowboy humor

Army humor

Leather humor

Many  of Etienne's drawings are stories.  IHere's one of my old favorites.

And finally, the great and iconic
Tom of Finland (Touko Laaksonen),

about whom, if you need an introduction, you should get out more.

There are two imaged beyond the jump, both by Tagame.  One is the most beautiful drawing he or anybody els has made.  The other is horrific.  Do not read on unless you are prepared to be horrified (though it is sorta funny, too).

So you are warned.  If you wish,
